BioTeric is a character played on Harper's Tale MOO, a role-playing game based on the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey, played by her permission. Please see the website for more information.
The orphan of sailors and fostered by sailors, Teric still manifests some of
the dialects and mannerisms of the very low ranks of the seacraft. His calling
was smithing, however, which he followed at a young age. (The better get out
of the foster status.)
Before being promoted to journeyman rank, Teric enjoyed his one and only chance
to stand at Ista Weyr. He was left on the sands, but apparently he wasn't
overly bothered by this. Instead, he threw himself back into his smith studies
and waas soon promoted.
Teric's first and only journeyman posting was to Ista Weyr, where he worked as
the weyrsmith for quite some time. At the age of 40, he was called back to the
Istan Smithhall, where he was soon promoted to the rank of master and named
successor to the position of craftmaster. It was all rather abrupt and
unexpected, but so far so good.
